Report on the IPSF Hungary – Off Season Championship and Gala Competition

Report on the IPSF Hungary – Off Season Championship and Gala Competition

We are delighted to share with you the experiences and results of the IPSF Hungary – Off Season Championship, held on November 15 by the Hungarian Pole and Aerial Sports Federation, as well as the highlights of the afternoon Gala Competition.

The MNSE team participated with 6 athletes, proudly representing our club throughout the event.

Morning – IPSF Championship

Our athletes competed in an international field, with participants arriving from Greece and Romania. They were eager to receive feedback based on the official IPSF scoring system, ensuring they could measure their progress accurately. We were thrilled to hear that all international competitors expressed their intention to return next year.

Competing under the IPSF rules is always an exciting challenge, as the strict and complex system requires careful preparation. We are especially proud that:

  • Rózsa Hajdú and Piroska Kovács achieved higher scores compared to the spring season.

  • Mira Guzmics competed in the amateur category for the first time, performing an upgraded version of her spring routine.

  • Zoé Alexa Kovács is preparing for the elite category with the goal of earning World Championship qualification next year.

  • Lelle Lichtenstein aimed to surpass herself in the artistic swinging pole category; although some elements were not performed with perfect precision this time, she gained valuable experience.

Afternoon – Gala Competition

In the afternoon, the freestyle Gala Competition took place, where I participated as a judge. Meanwhile, my athletes managed their warm-up and stage preparation completely on their own – a first for our team. I am incredibly proud of them, as they captivated the audience with beautiful, confident routines.

To ensure fair play, the scoring system used was the following: out of the four judges’ scores, the highest and lowest were discarded, and the final result was calculated from the remaining two scores. I felt very supported, judging alongside professionals whose perspectives I fully respect, resulting in fair and well-deserved outcomes.

One of the most touching moments of the Gala was the presentation of a special award to Edit Tankóné Gulyás. Competing in the 50+ category, she is a true inspiration to all of us. Her dedication, grace and passion for continuous improvement make her an exceptional role model across all ages.

This Year’s Achievements of the Hungarian Pole & Aerial Sports Federation

This year, the Federation launched three competitions:

  • IPSF Qualification Championship

  • IPSF Hungary – Off Season Championship

  • Gala Competition

This is a significant step forward for our sport. We aim to organize these events with even higher quality in the coming years.

We sincerely thank everyone – organizers, athletes, coaches and supporters – who contributed to making these competitions possible and successful
